Damon McIntyre studied woodworking and furniture design with Tom Eckert at Arizona State University. He was one of 20 students to receive a Completion Fellowship awarded to students completing their thesis research. He is the recipient of the Ed Moulthrop Fellowship in Craft and the Sam Maloof Scholarship for continued study at Anderson Ranch in Snowmass Village, Colorado. Shortly after starting DMc Design Studios, where he continued making unique furniture and sculptural objects for clients across the country, Damon accepted a position teaching wood turning and woodworking techniques at Virginia Commonwealth University. His work has been published in “Wood Art Today 2” and “Studio Furniture; Today’s Leading Woodworkers” by Schiffer Books as well as Lark Books “500 Tables” and “500 Cabinets”. He recently completed a residency at Arrowmont School of Arts & Crafts located outside of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park and continues to exhibit his work and produce commission furniture.
