Presented as part of The Tournées Festival. Presented by: Esfandiar Zafar, Senior Director, Information Technology Services France, Germany (2007) Dirs: Vincent Paronnaud and Marjane Satrapi.
Adapted from two best selling autobiographical graphic novels, this animated work tells the comic yet harrowing story of a girl coming into her own under the political upheaval of Ayatollah Kohmeni. The society she thought she lived in has disappeared, and she finds little relief bouncing through European cultures. It is a true story of no heroine, no flag-waving idealist, no rebel, but a not always wise, sometimes reckless woman who becomes more sure of herself and her values. French, German, Persian, English with English subtitles. PG-13. 96 mins.
