Presented as part of Memory, Cinema, Archive: Focus on Haiti. The series expands the work of The Public Archive by considering how film addresses questions of historical memory, political re-dress, and the economy of archive and representation.

Presented by: Colin Dayan, Professor of English, Robert Penn Warren Professor in Humanities USA (2003) Dir: Jonathan Demme.

Haitian radio journalist and human rights activist Jean Dominique is captured in a rightly affectionate and illuminating profile which draws from footage of Haiti’s vivid and tumultuous past under the Duvalier dictatorship, prior to Dominique’s assassination in 2000. English. PG-13. 90 mins. Funding provided in part by the History Department. Presented by The Public Archive, DVD.
