Visiting Writers Series: Poets Kazim Ali & Brett Ralph

Kazim Ali’s poetry collections include The Far Mosque (2005), which won the Alice James Books’ New England/New York Award, The Fortieth Day (2008), and a trans-genre memoir Bright Felon: Autobiography and Cities (2009), a finalist for the Ohioana First Book Award for Poetry. Ali is also a novelist, editor, and critic, and teaches at Oberlin College and with the Stonecoast MFA Program at the University of Southern Maine.
Kentucky poet and singer/songwriter Brett Ralph will read from his debut collection of poems, Black Sabbatical. A poet of great verve and energy. He teaches writing at Hopkinsville Community College, and tours with his country-rock ensemble, Brett Eugene Ralph’s Kentucky Chrome Revue.
This event takes place in the Morgan University Center, Room 303.
