Letters: Famous and Otherwise
September 9-October 7, 2010
Add Review/Comment
In this course we will look at a lost form of writing – the letter. We will look at various letters written from a wide range of correspondents from the Roman Empire to the present. The class will examine the letters from a variety of perspectives: social, political, economic and personal. Some of the letters will be classic, such as the correspondence between John and Abigail Adams; others will not be so familiar. Nor will the letters always be friendly. The Lifelong Learning program offers people of retirement and semi-retirement age an opportunity to expand knowledge and explore new ideas in an informal, noncompetitive environment.
