The Art of Jairo Prado: Inventing Communities and Creating Identities

Recent paintings, prints, and sculptures by Colombian-born Nashville artist Jairo Prado, as well as a public lecture/ convocation presented by the artist, who will discuss the evolution of his own artistic work as it has been shaped by two divergent cultural communities. Presented in conjunction with an artist-led community mural project, Prado’s lecture and exhibition commemorates Belmont University’s upcoming 2010 Humanities Symposium "Giving Shape to Airy Nothings: Inventing Communities, Creating Identities." Exhibition will be on view September 9-October 22.
