This October, John Erickson, author of the popular “Hank the Cowdog” series of chapter books, will entertain visitors by reading excerpts from The Case of the Halloween Ghost and performing the author’s original songs that are intertwined in the telling of the story. Each of the 56 books in this series is written from the perspective of Hank the Cowdog, the self-described Head of Ranch Security.

Through the eyes of Hank, John Erickson provides a unique view of life on a West Texas cattle ranch. Hank, Drover, Pete the Barncat, and other characters are brought to life through Erickson’s unique story-telling ability. Encountering countless adventures, and sometimes misadventures, the characters draw readers into their world and leave them wanting more.

His books are available at Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library. These are great fun-reads for adults as well as kids.

Austin Peay State University’s Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts and the Customs House Museum and Cultural Center have partnered to bring this free event to Clarksville. Event time to be announced.
