The real Andrea Chénier was one of the last victims of the Reign of Terror because of his controversial political beliefs. The opera's Chénier was a victim of something much more visceral – jealousy.

This InsideOut of the Lunch Box will explore the similarities and differences in the life of the poet and activist within history and fiction. Panelists will discuss the life and times of Andrea Chénier, his initial support of the French Revolution, and how his own words were used against him in the end. And we'll also find out how the Nashville Opera will stage this powerful work of art, which includes beautiful music and special effects.

Helpful Information: A free box lunch will be provided to the first 300 people to RSVP. Reservations are accepted no earlier than 3 weeks prior to the event date. RSVP to tpac@vanderbilt.edu.
