The University Wind Ensemble, directed by Steve Rhodes, performs standards from the wind band literature. The first concert of the 2010-2011 year will include: “Tancredi Overture” by the celebrated Opera composer Gioacchino Antonio Rossini, “Kaddish” (translated prayer for the dead) by the American Band composer Francis McBeth and “Power and Glory”, a march written by John Philip Sousa in the twilight years of his career.
