    Belmont Jazz Ensemble, directed by Dr. Jeff Kirk, plays some of the most challenging and stimulating music from the jazz repertoire. The ensemble performs diverse literature that ranges from big band swing to modern jazz-fusion. This select group, consisting of five saxes/reeds, five trumpets, and four trombones and a full rhythm section permits ample room for individual solos and full ensemble.

    Jazz Ensemble II is organized each year to provide experience in jazz performance for more advanced music students. The group is usually composed of seven to ten players including the rhythm section and performs commercial/jazz selections. Jazz Ensemble II is directed by Matt White.
