Through the leadership and guidance of Joseph T. Smith, Horace Beasley, and Linda Mitchell, the Contest of Champions has been an important part of the marching band history of our state and region. Through their efforts and the assistance of the men and women of the MTSU Band of Blue, the contest has become the oldest consecutive marching band contest in the United States. Bands from as far away as New York and Florida have competed. Each band that appears at the Contest of Champions has won numerous honors and should be shown your appreciation for their outstanding accomplishments for each is a champion among champions.

      It was an amazing night . Though my school didnt make it we know that we did awesome. The other bands were amazing. Maybe next year my school will be the champions.
