Add Review/Comment
Ron Rash, author of the New York Times bestseller and PEN/Faulkner Award Finalist, Serena, opens the 2010-11 Lipscomb University Landiss Lecture Series Thursday, Oct. 28 at the Doris Swang Chapel in the Ezell Center on the Lipscomb University campus.
Rash’s latest novel Serena, has been called a remarkable novel that “recalls both John Steinbeck and Cormac McCarthy,” by The New Yorker magazine. The chilling gothic tale of greed, corruption, and revenge set against the backdrop of the 1930s wilderness and America’s burgeoning environmental movement was named a Best Book of the Year by more than a dozen national publications, including The New York Times and The Washington Post.
A reception follows the program with a book signing. For more information about the event, contact the department of English at (615) 966-5960.
