General's Breakfast at Rippavilla Plantation

Rippavilla Plantation will be hosting the General’s Breakfast at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 20, 2010 as part of the area’s Battle of Spring Hill and Battle of Franklin annual commemoration.

Rippavilla Plantation will be hosting the General’s Breakfast at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 20, 2010 as part of the area’s Battle of Spring Hill and Battle of Franklin annual commemoration.

Guests will dine in the original dining room where John Bell Hood gathered his Confederate Generals for the Council of War Breakfast on November 30, 1864. Breakfast includes country ham, biscuits, eggs, grits, potato casserole, fruit, coffee, hot tea, iced tea and water.

After breakfast, guests will be treated to a brief discussion aimed at naming the Confederate Generals that were at Rippavilla before they marched to Franklin. As many of you know, local historians disagree on exactly who joined Hood that morning before marching to Franklin.
