Recent high-profile suicides among GLBTQI youth are drawing attention to what we have known for years: that growing up gay can be a cold and frightening experience. But it shouldn't have to be a fatal one.

We invite you to participate in an informational session about suicide in the GLBTQI population, especially young people.

We will provide a training session in sensitivity to GLBTQI issues. We will also offer training in how to recognize the warning signs of suicide, prevent depressed and suicidal people from hurting themselves and others, and connect them with available mental and health resources. Finally, we will explain what state regulations say about bullying in schools.

Afterward, the Music City Sisters will lead a candlelight vigil along Church Street in memory of those we have lost.
