Renoir's Boating Party

The board of the Tennessee Art League have finalized plans for Renoir's Boating Party, a fundraising event to be held Thursday, November 4th.

Part of the "Art, Dine, Design" series of activities held by the Art League, the affair will feature gourmet food and entertainment, as well as an opportunity to purchase a fine array of artworks by locally- and regionally-known artists. The Boating Party will be held at the TAL building in downtown Nashville and is hosted by local artists Marlynda Augelli, Arlene Bates, Jan Batts, and Wendy Latimer.

Culinary surprises at the Boating Party will be provided by executive chef Margot McCormack (whose East Nashville gustatory favorite Margot Cafe & Bar last month won "Best Restaurant of 2010" in the Nashville Scene Readers’ Poll.)

The gathering will be attended by internationally-famed artists Joseph Sulkowski and Elizabeth Brandon. Both realist painters in an old-master tradition, Sulkowski and Brandon are the recipients of dozens of awards presented by groups from the U.S. and beyond. Brandon's work recently was selected by Tennessee First Lady Andrea Conte and Tennessee Museum Executive Director Lois Riggins-Ezzell for permanent inclusion in the collection of the Tennessee State Museum.
