gallery F. at Scarritt-Bennett and the Foreign Language Acting Group (F.L.A.G.) will host an evening of holiday music and dance celebrating Nashville’s Spanish speaking community, Saturday, December 4. Seating is limited and reservations are required.

    The Performers:

Bob Teague plays and sings original compositions with guitar accompaniment. He is a veteran songwriter, instrumentalist, director, conductor, and producer. After many travels to Mexico, he was influenced by the dance rhythms and singing styles of Latin music and began composing Spanish guitar for solo, ensemble and orchestra.

Kay Reynolds, a native Nashvillian, has been a soloist with the Nashville Symphony and Nashville Opera. On this program, Kay sings selections from 'Once Canciones" (Eleven Songs) by noted Ecuadorian composer, Diego Luzuriaga, one of the most original voices among Latin American composers. She is a mezzo-soprano and loves to sing in Spanish.

Charissa Raquel James is an accomplished dancer who has studied with the Spanish Dance Society since she was 10. She combines Spanish and Mexican traditional and exotic dance with a dramatic form of improvised Flamenco dancing which is internationally known as 'duende.'

This event is part of a series that aims to encourage people of all backgrounds to learn about foreign cultures through literature and music. Look for other foreign language literary and music events at gallery F. featuring different languages and cultures.
