“Songwriting is how I sort through everything that’s going on in my life,” says Chase Coy, who began writing and recording music at the age of 16 in the basement of his parents’ home in Greenwood, Indiana. “It’s how I get my mind straight when I feel like I can’t handle everything that’s being thrown at me. It has helped me to maintain a sense of optimism, no matter what is going on around me.”

That hopeful, uplifting sentiment permeates Coy’s major-label debut Picturesque — an expansive, yet deeply personal collection of emotionally resonant melodic gems that displays his engaging, heart-on-sleeve lyricism. “I’ve never been the kind of person who was reserved about sharing the intimate details of my life with people,” says Coy, who is now 19 and still a resident of Greenwood. “I’m pretty transparent. For me, this album is a collection of memories and moments suspended in time — significant things that have affected me deeply, or else I wouldn’t be writing about them.”

This show also features live music from Backseat Goodbye, Plugin Stereo, and Details Details.
