Matt Ramsey spent the first 18 years of his life in Buchanan, a small town in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. At age 14 he found love in an old Yamaha guitar that had been collecting dust in his closet for a decade. This was the tipping point to a successful career as a songwriter and musician. Matt has been compared to Columbia Records artist, Bruce Springsteen and newcomer, Jason Aldean. You’ll hear the influence of a variety of artists such as the legendary John Mellencamp in his music but with a fresh, original sound.
