The Tennessee Art League was organized in 1954 as a nonprofit organization in the State of Tennessee. The primary mission of the TAL is to assist local visual artists by providing gallery space, workshops, and educational programs. In addition, the League endeavors to enrich the community by providing professional artist materials to schools, teaching art in community centers, senior centers and homeless shelters.
TAL hosts five art galleries; admission to each is always free and open to the public. November listings are as follows.
Premiere Gallery – An exhibition of paintings by Brandt Hardin, through Saturday, March 5, 2011. Mr. Hardin is a pop surrealist illustrator and designer living and working out of Clarksville, TN. Brandt’s colorful creations are inspired by pop culture, surrealist art, comics, and alternative culture. A predominately self-taught artist, his works have appeared in hundreds of galleries, festivals, and publications world-wide including The Detroit Dirty Show, Hive Gallery of Los Angeles, and Youngblood Gallery of Atlanta.
Ethel Smith Gallery - Works by Thomas Britt, Bobby Nash, Joseph Lantrip.
Members Gallery – Works by Tennessee Art League members. Many mediums will be featured - oil, pastel, watercolor, acrylics, and pen and ink.
Poston3 Gallery – A group exhibition by the Tennessee Chapter of the American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP). ASMP is a professional group supporting those who create photographic imagery using still images, motion and multimedia. The ASMP Tennessee Chapter has members from student level to full time professional photographers working in all genres of commercial photography such as music, editorial, architecture, food, portraiture, industrial, travel, product and more.
