This is an exhibition of 73 dolls. Japan enjoys a rich culture of dolls. Each doll has its own distinct meaning and purpose, and is deeply connected to daily life. Japanese dolls are appreciated not only as children's toys but as works of art to be displayed and admired. Japanese dolls are characterized by their serene facial expressions and beautiful clothing showing the richness of ancient costume and pageantry.

      My sister and our children (ages 7 to 12) were all fascinated by the variety, authenticity of this exhibit. I was impressed by the detailed artistic expression of each doll. The dolls represented... Expand

      My sister and our children (ages 7 to 12) were all fascinated by the variety, authenticity of this exhibit. I was impressed by the detailed artistic expression of each doll. The dolls represented boys, girls, warriors and different styles and mediums. It was our family's way of paying respects for those affected by the earthquake and tsunami in Japan this last week. Thank you TAL for providing a way for us to feel connected to their country and culture. Beautiful and spiritual. Collapse
