Celebrate Black History Month at The Hermitage.  February is an exciting month at The Hermitage as we unveil our new month-long series of events dedicated to Black History Month. Every Thursday evening throughout February, we will be offering a special performance or lecture that will highlight African-American culture, specifically through music, dance and culinary traditions.

"A Celebration of Culture: Legacy"  will be held in the Andrew Jackson Visitors Center.  Representatives from the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center (NURFC) will be present to discuss the legacy of slavery today. NURFC operates The Freedom Stations Program which is a national outreach program linking historic Underground Railroad sites, research centers, university library collections, and museums engaged in Underground Railroad and slavery era research, historic preservation through the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center.
