November 17-November 19, 2011
Add Review/Comment
SunTrust Classical Series presents Nashville Symphony, Giancarlo Guerrero, conductor, and Hila Plitmann, soprano.
Webern - Passacaglia, Op. 1
Richard Danielpour - Darkness in the Ancient Valley *
Mahler - Symphony No. 4
* World Premiere
Be among the exclusive first to hear a world premiere by Richard Danielpour, whose music is visceral, romantic and distinctly American. Darkness in the Ancient Valley will feature the gorgeous voice of soprano Hila Plitmann, who will draw out all of the emotion at the heart of this piece. Giancarlo Guerrero continues our quest to be among the few orchestras to perform all of Mahler’s symphonies with the Austrian composer’s Fourth, a more intimate yet dazzling Mahler masterpiece.
