SunTrust Classical Series presents Nashville Symphony, Stanislaw Skrowaczewski, conductor, and Garrick Ohlsson, piano.

Chopin - Concerto No. 1 in E minor for Piano, Op. 11
Bruckner - Symphony No. 2 in C minor

Stanislaw Skrowaczewski is one of the greatest conductors of our time — and he’s also one of the world’s foremost interpreters of Anton Bruckner, a composer whose richly orchestrated music is just right for the acoustics of Schermerhorn Symphony Center. Guest pianist Garrick Ohlsson will showcase his own specialty: the work of Frédéric Chopin. The composer’s First Piano Concerto is full of poetic passages, parts of which were meant, in Chopin’s words, to “convey the impression one receives when the eye rests on a beloved landscape.”
