The Belmont University School of Music and Mike Curb College of Entertainment & Music Business present An Evening of Music at Belmont on Saturday, March 26.

The Bluegrass Ensemble will open the evening at 6:00 pm in Massey Concert Hall. The Best of the Best Showcase will begin in the Curb Event Center at 7:00 pm, and Southbound, the School of Music's country ensemble, will perform at 9:00 p.m. in Massey Concert Hall. All events are free and open to the public. Please note the change in performance times for Bluegrass and Southbound.

The Best of the Best showcase will highlight some of Belmont’s remarkable student talent with performances from the winners of the Mike Curb College of Entertainment & Music Business Showcase series—Chase Foster (Urban/Pop), Colorfire(Christian), Jordan Kyle Reynolds (Country), and Evan P. Donohue (Rock)—and from the ASCAP Writers’ Night series winners – Brinley Addington, Jilian Linklater, Hailey Whitters along with one other student (decided on March 15).

Continuing a tradition of recognizing music industry greats who are also dedicated to the educational process, Belmont’s Mike Curb College of Entertainment and Music Business will name the International Entertainment Buyers Association (IEBA) and founder Harry “Hap” Peebles the 2011 recipient of the Robert E. Mulloy Award of Excellence at the Best of the Best Showcase at Belmont’s Curb Event Center on March 26th at 7p.m. Established in memory of program founder Bob Mulloy, the annual Award of Excellence recognizes an individual or organization that has achieved a level of excellence in the music business and entertainment industries with notable service to Belmont University and the Nashville community; previous recipients include Donna Hilley and Vince Gill.

Event is open to the public.

      Attended the 2011 Best of the Best Show at Belmont--and it was awesome from the sound, lighting, production--to the remarkable performers. Jordan Reynolds was great in Country, Brinley Addington was the highlight from the Writers Series, Chase Foster is a true talent, along with Evan Donahue, and the band Colorfire. Belmont truly upholds the tradition of the BEST musical talent. Check out these talented artists! We will be hearing from ALL of these above talented artists in the future--take note!! Collapse
