    Dr. Julianne Malveaux, economist, author and commentator, is the 15th President of Bennett College for Women in Greensboro, N.C. Described by Dr. Cornel West as "the most iconoclastic public intellectual in the country," Malveaux's contributions to the public dialogue on issues such as race, culture, gender, and their economic impacts are helping to shape public opinion in 21st century America.

    In addition to being an accomplished author and editor, she is also a writer and columnist whose work has appeared regularly in a range of national publications including USA Today, Diverse Issues in Higher Education, Ms. magazine, Essence magazine, and The Progressive. Malveaux received her Bachelor and Master of Arts degrees in economics from Boston College and earned a doctorate in economics from MIT.
