Lipscomb University’s Institute for Sustainable Practice invites local faith leaders to a breakfast and talk with the Rev. Canon Sally Bingham, president and founder of Interfaith Power and Light. Rev. Bingham launched Interfaith Power and Light in 1998 to fight global warming. More than 10,000 congregations in 38 states, including Tennessee, have joined the campaign. Rev. Bingham is the lead author of “Love God, Heal Earth,” and serves as Canon for the Environment in the Episcopal Diocese of California. At the breakfast, Rev. Bingham will discuss faith and its connections to creation care, the world’s energy future and Christian’s response to the needs of neighbors in light of the growing impact of changes in our world. The event is part of a four-city Tennessee tour, March 27-31, including public presentations and meetings with religious and community leaders in Chattanooga, Knoxville, Nashville and Johnson City focusing on the theme: “Our Shared Purpose: A Religious Response to the Climate Crisis.”
