On Thursday and Friday evenings from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, the Frist Center features free music from various area performers in the Grand Lobby. Visitors can visit the galleries (free to members), shop in the gift shop, and listen to some of Nashville's finest local music while relaxing in our bistro seating area and enjoying a variety of wines and other beverages from the cash bar.

Born in New York City and raised in Tennessee, Matt Urmy is a free thinking, new world poet. His performances move listeners between the gritty free verse of the 1960s and smoking folk-country blues. Labeled an “Americana” artist, his voice is etched with the weathered years of life polished with the sad pangs of hope, which are mirrored by the depths of his writing. Visitors may visit the galleries (free to members), shop in the gift shop and listen to some of Nashville’s finest local music while relaxing in our bistro seating area and enjoying a variety of wines and other beverages from the café.

Tonight's performance will be in the café.
