Join Team Green Adventures on a Strenuous Hike 9 mile hike at Stone Door in the Savage Gulf State Natural Area.

When: March 26th at 7:30am (carpool) or 9:30am at the Stone Door Ranger Station
Where: Stone Door Ranger Station, Savage Gulf State Natural Area

ABOUT STONE DOOR
Trail starts level for one mile to the Stone Door and overlooks. Stone Door is a old Indian trail and the overlook views are awesome and even used in a Hank Williams movie. We will make a 700 foot descent into Big Creek via the “door” Big Creek is interesting as the water disappears underground and reappears along the way. The trail follows the river as we slowly climb back up the valley. We can take a optional out and back .8 mile round trip to Ranger Creek Falls if we have the energy. At the end of the valley floor we can play on some boulders in the river around two favorite swimming holes then we have a 300 foot ascent up an old logging road. The next 3.2 miles is level and walks the rim of the gulf with several overlooks as we return to the Stone Door, then back to the ranger station.
