Add Review/Comment
Music City celebrates Earth Day in Centennial Park. The2011 festival theme is: Make Your Mother Proud. The event offers exhibits and activities designed to educate Nashvillians about protecting the environment. it's a great way to get out, have fun and learn about conservation and preservation.
This year's festival is focused on the goal of making Nashville the greenest city in the Southeast. There will be several exhibits, activities and booths at the festival that will all promote this initiative and ways that you can help. A scavenger hunt is open to everyone and will lead you through the park looking for ways to go green.
The Youth Area features a Global Education Center allowing kids to immerse themselves in multi-cultural music, dance and interpretation. It also offers a music stage and arts & crafts area where you can create pieces of art out of reused and recycled materials.
The Local Food & Farming section focuses on eating locally and seasonally. Workshops cover wild plant foraging, preserving, homegrowing and composting.
Of course, there will be live music. It is Music City, after all. Music starts on the Main Stage at 2:00pm and plays through to 7:00pm.
