Four-time Grammy award - winning jazz artist, McCoy Tyner and Tony award - winning choreographer and tap master, Savion Glover will perform to generate funds for Vanderbilt University's Division of Nephrology and Hypertension and the American Kidney Fund.

McCoy Tyner's blues-based piano style, replete with sophisticated chords, and an explosive percussive left hand has transcended conventional styles to become one of the most recognizable sounds in improvised music.

Since Savion Glover's Broadway debut as the title character in The Tap Dance Kid at the age of 12, to his Tony winning choreography for Bring in 'Da Noise, Bring in 'Da Funk and his role as the animated penguin, Mumble in Happy Feet, he has remained the undisputed king of tap.

The Newark, New Jersey-born artistic genius has traveled the world as an ambassador for the art of tap or as he eloquently corrects you - "hoofing". For a quarter of a century, Savion has performed and taught his art form around the globe.

The son of a performer, he began tapping as a kid at the Broadway Dance Center in Manhattan. His teacher landed him an audition with Broadway choreographer, Henry Le Tang that led to his Tap Dance Kid days. Within 5 years, he performed with his idol, Gregory Hines, was a regular on Sesame Street and at 15, became the youngest Tony nominee in history for his role in Black and Blue.

Savion has collaborated with everyone from Michael Jackson to Barbara Streisand to Spike Lee. He began a second phase of his career, including his participation in the Oscar- winning animated hit, Happy Feet as choreographer and chief motion-capture artist. Most recently, Savion appeared as a featured guest on Dancing with the Stars.
