As part of the commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the Civil War, the Clement Railroad Hotel Museum will present a special program about the Irish Shanty on Saturday, April 30. Dr. Cal James will discuss the story of the Irish Shanty incident that occurred in July 1863 in western Dickson County. Using family stories, trial transcripts, and archival materials, he will detail facts that helped reveal the mystery and answered many questions surrounding this little-known event.
