Tori Mason--Nashville singer/songwriter transplant originally from Topeka, Kansas. Started singing in church choir while in grade school. Picked up the guitar in junior high......bought the neighbor's garage sale guitar for $5, and a "John Denver Made Easy" songbook and taught myself how to play. Folks figured I was serious, bought me a nice classical guitar for my 16th birthday, and lessons. Started seriously writing after the death of a friend in 1992....good therapy, don't we all know. Sang backup with a local band as well as occassionally playing some original tunes, and honed my writing skills (still honing....). Took the plunge to Nashville in July 1995, and still loving it here. Hope to keep doing the songwriting thing a while longer, hitting the writers nights a couple times a month, and maybe even recording an independent cd soon. But mostly, I just want to enjoy this journey called life. Life is way too short to waste, so drink it in!

Founded by Jonathon Harris in April of 2011. The Strother Pass was originally a living room project but had grown into an actual "band". The inspiration for the name came from a road that ran behind Jonathon's parents' house in Cottontown TN. The Strother family was an integral part of the development of the small town and the property that Jonathon grew up on gives a lot of inspiration to the music that he makes.

On Jonathon's side is his wife Jessica. The two would write songs after the kids were asleep in bed and eventually decided to make a "real" project out of it. Adding friends Darren and Keith gave the group a solid base and more tools to create a bigger sound.

The goal is one thing. Make good music. Yes it's been said before but The Strother Pass is made up of people with families, jobs, and problems and blessings. Everyday people writing every day songs.....
