For 122 years, The Ladies' Hermitage Association (LHA) has cared for and preserved the home of President Andrew Jackson. Since 1889, their diligence and determination has seen The Hermitage through numerous hardships and disasters. Its status as a major international attraction and the most authentically preserved early American presidential home site is a great tribute to their persistence and skill.

Spring Outing is a time-honored tradition of the LHA. For more than 100 years, members have gathered at this time to celebrate their accomplishments and to honor the memory and legacy of the family who called The Hermitage home.  This year, we are honoring Honey Alexander and leading ladies of Tennessee. Honey knows what it is to lead with her heart and with determination.

She and Lamar have devoted themselves to public service and she has supported his work as Governor, President of the University of Tennessee, U.S. Secretary of Education, and now as our U.S. Senator. She has particularly focused her own time and attention on projects and services relating to the health and well-being of families and children. She has been a valued voice and effective advocate on numerous national and statewide boards and commissions, including the LHA, and is in her own right a truly treasured ambassador for our State.
