Some of the best-known antiques and fine arts appraisers in the country -- many of them regulars on the popular travelling antiques appraisal show on public television -- will converge on Nashville for the NPT Antiques And Fine Arts Appraisal Day, May 21, 2011, from 9:00am – 3:00pm at the Nashville Farmers’ Market, 900 Rosa Parks Blvd., Nashville, TN 37208.
The charge per item for each verbal appraisal will be $10 and all proceeds directly benefit Nashville Public Television. Items that cannot be appraised at the fair include books, dolls, toys, coins, stamps, arrowheads, burial material, ammunition or items that cannot be easily transported by one person. Large items can be appraised from photographs.
Appraisers confirmed to be on hand for the event, now in its 3rd year, and their specialties, include Gloria Lieberman of Skinner, Inc in Boston, Massachusetts (estate and heirloom jewelry); Linda Dyer of Franklin, Tennessee (Native American, American west and Spanish colonial art); David Weiss of Freeman’s Auctioneers in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (paintings, drawings, metal work, sculpture, rugs and textiles); James Callahan of Skinner, Inc. in Marlborough, Massachusetts (Asian Arts); David Bonsey of Skinner, Inc. in Marlborough, Massachusetts (musical instruments); Stuart Slavid of Skinner, Inc. in Marlborough, Massachusetts (American and European Pottery, porcelain, furniture & decorative arts); Rafael Eldedge of Shiloh Civil War Relics in Savannah, Tennessee (arms and militia, Civil War collectibles, 20th century military collectibles); Michael Hall of Michael Hall Antiques in Nashville, Tennessee (American furniture and southern decorative arts); and Alasdair Nichol (Paintings and Drawings).
