Lines In The Sky

Jesse Brock began playing music at age 4 and has never stopped. Performing solo from a young age, he began starting bands with his classmates by middle school. The revolving door of potential bandmates continued, but it was not until his younger brother Bowman began playing drums that Jesse recognized the possibility of his future long-term career band. At home in their studio, rhythms and tones swirled around the two brothers until their two undeniable musical currents collided into a jet stream of sound and purpose that has become Lines In the Sky. These underage prodigies have so much collective inherent talent between them that harnessing it into commercial craft has proven both exhausting and exhilarating. Lead guitarist, vocalist, lyricist, keyboardist et al. Jesse, now 18, brings an almost unearthly ability to add dimension to riffs and melodies. Jesse's vocals seem to come out of nowhere, driving both the melody and lyrics as well as dynamically expressing the emotions of the individual songs. His power notes are far out of the normal range of most young male indie singers, and he uses this specialty to reach deep to the core of his fans, channeling Bono and Sting in a younger stronger body. Drummer brother Bowman Brock, just 14, is the unusual glue that solidifies the sound of the band. His gift is not merely the ability he displays at such a young age, but his imaginative and aggressive fills and polyrhythms bring the songs to full life with a hot-wired energy unmatched by the usual indie radio fare. This is the way U2 wanted to play when they were this age. This duo can keep college students on their feet, not to mention their current middle- and high-school peers. Self-produced and self-sufficient, Lines In the Sky showcase songs about ambition, integrity, family difficulties, boy-girl relationships and God, featuring timeless topics, but expressed by two young men who have their eyes and hearts on the big wide-open future instead of angst-ridden defeatism. Lines In The Sky is not just a noise band, not just a progressive power band, but a band with the ability to create, produce, and perform songs and sound that will last, speaking to and affirming their audience. With no limits but the sky, this is a young band with a glowing future fire.
