Nashville Symphony
Giancarlo Guerrero, conductor
Joaquín Achúcarro, piano
Berlioz - Le carnaval romain [Roman Carnival]
De Falla - Nights in the Gardens of Spain for Piano and Orchestra
Bizet - Suite from Carmen
Ravel - Boléro
Take a whirlwind trip to Spain as Giancarlo and the orchestra perform music from Bizet’s opera Carmen, with its lively rhythms and its visions of dashing bullfighters. De Falla’s Nights in the Gardens of Spain is a darker, more mysterious piece, evoking the flamenco guitars of the composer’s native Andalusia. The evening closes with Ravel’s exhilarating, Latin-flavored Boléro.
