A staple of syndicated television for more than twenty years, Hee Haw premiered on CBS in 1969 and quickly became one of the most popular shows on network television. Conceived as the country version of Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In, the show was originally broadcast as the summer replacement for The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour. The weekly program featured rural comedy led by co-hosts Roy Clark and Buck Owens and country music performances by cast members and special guests. This screening features appearances by Tammy Wynette and George Jones. Presented in support of the exhibit Tammy Wynette: First Lady of Country Music Presented by Great American Country Television Network. 40 minutes. Free.
