David Ray got his start in his native Michigan, a state known for the likes of Bob Seger, Ted Nugent and the Eagles' Glenn Frey. He grew up in a small town that wasn't far from Detroit, and playing his father's guitar, Ray gravitated towards the sounds of Michigan's native sons, while also being captivated by country music.

When Ray moved to Nashville in 2010 he hit the ground running, performing almost as soon as he pulled into town. In addition to playing in acoustic, in-the-round settings at Pick's and the Bluebird Cafe, Ray has also performed at Cadillac Ranch and Paradise Park, both in Nashville's Lower Broad area. Ray is a TCM Records recording artist who is set to release his new CD, The Man In Me, this summer.
