This summer, Arts and Flowers returns to Nashville and will once again bring more than two dozen of the area’s leading visual artists and floral designers together in competition, culminating in a special event.

“We want everyone to be able to attend, so the tickets are very reasonably priced,” says ALIAS board member and Arts and Flowers Event Chair Jim Robert. “All of artwork will be available for purchase, and the floral arrangements will be offered through a silent auction, with a significant portion of the evening’s proceeds benefiting ALIAS.”

This year’s event follows 2010′s inaugural Arts and Flowers, which challenged local artists and floral designers to collaborate to create paintings and floral arrangements that complemented, contrasted or otherwise inspired one another. The resulting pairings drew acclaim from Mayor Karl Dean, Nashville Symphony CEO Alan Valentine, Frist Center for the Visual Arts Executive Director Susan Edwards, and Tennessee State Museum Director Lois Riggins-Ezzell, among others.

ALIAS musicians will join us for this very special event, and are slated to give a performance.

“When ALIAS Artistic Director Zeneba Bowers and Mix 92.9 personality Anna Marie Ritter collaborated on Alan Ridout’s Ferdinand the Bull for violin and narrator at last year’s event, you could have heard a pin drop in the room…the audience was mesmerized,” Robert said.

“Arts and Flowers was a tremendous success in its first year,” Robert said. “The participating artists and sponsors really seized the opportunity to be a part of something new and different. Event guests raved about it, too. They loved the concept, the atmosphere and the energy that seems to be a part of everything ALIAS touches. There was no way we couldn’t do it again!”

Sponsorship opportunities start at just $100.
