Add Review/Comment
The event features the poetry of Hafez, a celebrated poet who lived in the 14th century, original Persian music, and global music with traces of traditional sounds from Persia.
Bill Wolak will read from Hafez’s poetry, which he co-translated. The poems were compiled in the book “Your Lover’s Beloved,” which was recently published by Stanley H. Barkan/Cross-Cultural Communications. Wolak was also selected to participate in a friendship delegation to Iran sponsored by the Fellowship of Reconciliation, the nation’s largest and oldest interfaith peace and justice organization, in 2007. Mehdi Shariati, an associate professor at Volunteer State Community College, and Dr. Reza Habibian, who is medical doctor at Vanderbilt University, will read as well.
Massood Taj, a musician and visual artist, and The Nashville Persian Poetry Group will provide the music.
