Jim Parker has hosted a Songwriter's Showcase at the Von Braun Center in Hunstville, Alabama since 2005. He's had huge personal success when in 1978 he received ASCAP SONGWRITER’S AWARD for “I’ve Got A Feelin”, recorded by John Anderson on Warner Brothers Records. John Anderson’s first Warner Brothers release remained on Billboard’s National charts for 11 weeks peaking in the top 20s. In 1981 he also won BMI SONGWRITER’S AWARD for “Chicken Truck”, recorded by John Anderson on Warner Brothers Records. This song reached #8 in the nation on the Billboard country charts and is currently on John Anderson’s 1st Greatest Hits album.
One way or another, Mike Loudermilk has been making music most of his life. He has toured, recorded, and/or written songs with artists from John Schneider to Crystal Gayle, and from Tracy Lawrence to Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown. As an artist, he has recorded several albums internationally...including a recent duet record, "Wildwood Flower," with bluegrass fiddle legend Buddy Spicher.
Soon after moving to Nashville in 1976, Wood Newton met Dan Tyler, and together they wrote two of country music’s biggest hits, "BOBBIE SUE" for THE OAK RIDGE BOYS, and "TWENTY YEARS AGO" for KENNY ROGERS, both of which received awards for a million performances by BMI. He also co-wrote the David Ball's "Riding With Private Malone,"- another smash hit that received a BMI award for having a Million airplays on radio and TV!
