Snap On 2&4 with Rod McGaha

Friday, July 22 at 8pm, NJW welcomes trumpeter extraordinaire Rod McGaha back to the Jazz Cave for a special Snap on 2&4.
“Music is life,” declares McGaha matter-of-factly. “It’s about finding the common thread, the common bond that we all have. I don’t care whether you’re a classical musician or a jazz musician—let’s see what we have in common, and unite to send a message."
That’s why the critically-acclaimed trumpeter elected to mesh a hand-picked lineup of first-rate jazz musicians with an accomplished string quartet on his new album, A Gentle Man. The resulting sound is both elegant and intimate, distinguished by both technical virtuosity and emotional directness.
A favorite of Nashville jazz fans, McGaha is a truly unique voice on his instrument. A former student of the legendary Clark Terry, he was a member of the great Max Roach's brass quintet and has recorded and toured with a wide range of artists including Lou Rawls, Kenny Rogers, Bebe and Cece Winans, and the O'Jays, to name a few.
Tickets for this Snap on 2&4 event will go on sale Monday, July 18 at 10:00am Call (615) 242-5299 to purchase.
