The Nashville Songwriters Association International's (NSAI) Tin Pan South Songwriters Festival turns 20 next year, and dates have been set for March 27 - 31, 2012. Produced by NSAI, Tin Pan South reigns as the world's largest all-songwriter festival. Last year more than 300 talented songwriters performed 70+ shows at eight exceptional Nashville venues. Over 9,000 music fans attend the event annually to hear songwriters tell stories behind hit songs they have written and perform the songs as they're were originally composed. For five days and nights the festival encompasses Nashville venues, elevating songwriters and the contribution they make to the city and to the world of music.(schedule).  Along with raising money for NSAI's legislative efforts, Tin Pan South underscores the rich cultural heritage of Tennessee and draws attention to the wide variety of songwriters who live and work here today.

Over the past 20 years, the festival has featured writers such as Shawn Colvin, Art Garfunkel, Rodney Crowell, Townes Van Zandt, Garth Brooks, Jimmy Webb, Dierks Bentley, Gordon Lightfoot, Donna Summer, Melissa Manchester, Loretta Lynn, America, Carole King, Butch Walker, Lisa Loeb and Kenny Loggins, just to name a handful.
