“A mix of an eclectic underground hip hop tone with a touch of a club and commercial appeal,” is what most say about artist/producer Matic Lee. Born and raised in Marietta, GA, Matic began rapping at twelve years old and eventually progressed to recording and producing his music at fourteen. Since adulthood Matic Lee has began making a name for himself producing tracks for underground independent legend, Tech N9ne as well as winning a MTVU Woodie award for his single and video “Red Nose”. He has also produced for Tech N9ne’s Strange Music label mates, Kutt Kalhoun, Krizz Kaliko and lended his Production on songs featuring legends E40,Three Six Mafia and Young Buck.

Matic Lee’s Project “Smoke and a Mirror” features production from Oliver “OG” Grose (Yo Gotti,Rick Ross,Krizz Kaliko) on the records “Pole” and “GM Music.” David Sanders II (Tech N9ne, Krizz Kaliko, Mista Fab etc.) who produced the title track “Smoke and a Mirror” and the percussion laced track “Flight”. The remainder of the project is handled by Matic Lee. The overal lyrical content of the album is an insightful and very entertaining ride. From the politically driven “WTF” to the softer country fiddle infused “Ode to the Southern Belle,” Matic Lee’s sound is versatile but doesn’t stray too far from keeping your mind as well as your body moving with infectious beats and thought provoking, clever lyrics.
