Lane Abernathy & Jacob Thomas

Music has always flowed out of Lane Abernathy. Even before he could talk, he was keeping time to his parents' music. He grew up in a town you've probably never heard of, in the middle of the Tennessee country side. Bell Buckle doesn't have a stop-light. Until the gas station was built, the closest thing to a chain was the post-office. Trains barrel through every half-hour or so. And if you don't like getting stuck driving behind tractors, you probably shouldn't live there. As it turns out, the rolling hills of Middle Tennessee are a great place to raise 4 boys. Lane and his 3 younger brothers spent most of their time hiking creeks, catching snakes, having rock fights (do you know how to tell when a rock fight is over? some one is bleeding), and one time they accidentally burned down their parents' barn. When he was 10, he quit piano and convinced his parents to buy him a drum set. A few years later, driven by the need to play Radiohead songs to himself in his bedroom, he picked up his dad's guitar. Bell Buckle is great, but a town of 400 doesn't offer much to a young man filled with wonder lust. After seeing a bit of the world, he returned to Tennessee, Nashville this time, and began focusing his creativity. Catch Lane Abernathy live at The Family Wash with Jacob Thomas
