gallery F. at Scarritt-Bennett and the Foreign Language Acting Group (F.L.A.G.) will host a haiku poetry and music event celebrating Nashville’s Japanese community on August 20 at 7 p.m. The event will also serve as the closing reception for the 2010 2011 Japan exhibit. A collection of Haiku poems that were written by visitors of the 2010 2011 Japan exhibit will be read, as well as poems by Basho, Buson, Issa and Shiki. The poetry and music will be performed in Japanese and English.

The Japanese Night of Haiku and Music is part of a F.L.A.G. Foreign Language Acting Group series that aims to encourage people of all backgrounds to learn about foreign cultures through literature and music. Look for other foreign language literary and music events at gallery F. featuring different languages and cultures.
