Cindy Billingsley is a Franklin, TN-based painter and sculptor whose subjects include Alzheimers and other conditions of the aging as well as the preservation of endangered species. Equally talented in the two mediums, Billingsley has been recognized for her colorful and vibrant painted images, and for her lifelike representations of wildlife and fauna. Billingsley's two-month presentation at the Art League will be comprised of both paintings and sculpture. The artist's focus from September 3 through September 25 will be her portraits recognizing sufferers of Alzheimer's disease; from September 26 through October 29 she will feature a series of representations of endangered animals.

Billingsley is well-known in suburban Nashville for her large-format murals on the walls of the Brentwood (TN) library. In addition, Billingsley's public commissions include bronze castings for Nashville's Warner Park and the Arrington, TN Firefighter Memorial Commission. Her work has been included in dozens of shows throughout the southern U.S. in the past few years, including the Figurative Show Invitational at LeQuire Gallery; the National Association of Wildlife Artists, New York; and the National Association of Women Artists annual expo, 2007.

The exhibit opens on Saturday, September 3 and will hang through Saturday, October 29. A reception will be held Saturday, September 3, from 6:00pm-9:00pm.
