The Boulevard Bolt Patron’s Party (also known as the pace setter’s party), is this year’s inaugural kick-off event to the race. The race itself has been a tradition in Nashville since 1994 and is a 5 mile run/walk along Belle Meade Boulevard on Thanksgiving morning. Since it's beginning, the Boulevard Bolt has raised 1.6 million dollars. Each year the race grows, with over 8,700 participants last year. The last two years the race has raised close to $200,000 with proceeds distributed to over twenty-five local agencies assisting the homeless. Registration for this year's race will begin October 1. For race registration information see www.BoulevardBolt.org

We are happy to announce the Boulevard Bolt Pace Setters' Party will feature entertainment from noted singer/songwriter, Jonathan Singleton.  Known for co-writing the hit songs "Don't" (Billy Currington), "Watching Airplanes" (Gary Allan), "Red Light" (David Nail), and "Why Don't We Just Dance" (Josh Turner), he is also the lead singer of Jonathan Singleton and the Grove, which integrates his gritty guitars and blues-saturated vocals. We will also feature "The Faces of Homelessness," a gallery of photos provided by local charities, as well as award-winning photographers, Carter Andrews and Tom Neff. Special guests include Nashville Mayor Karl Dean and Anne Davis, Senator Douglas Henry, and State Representative Gary Odom and Rachel Odom.

There are a limited number of tickets available, so make sure to register now and ensure your support of such a great cause!

The pace setter party is a further way to honor the several corporate sponsors that give annually to the race, bring more visibility to the agencies that serve the homeless, and open up a new venue to raise more proceeds for the homeless of Nashville.

The pace setter party, similar to the race, results from the combined volunteer effort of members at The Temple, St. George’s Episcopal Church and Immanuel Baptist Church. All 2011 proceeds will go to the following Recipients: Big Brothers of Nashville, The Contributor, Faith Family Medical Clinic, The Key Alliance, Loaves and Fishes, Community Meals for the Hungry, Luke 14:12, Magdalene, Matthew 25, Mending Hearts, Mobile Loaves and Fishes, The Next Door, Nurses for Newborns, Oasis Center, Operation Stand Down Nashville, Park Center, Penuel Ridge Retreat Center, Renewal House, Rooftop Foundation, Room in the Inn’s Campus for human Development, Safe Haven Family Shelter, Second Harvest Food Bank, Shade Tree Family Clinic, Siloam Family Health Center, St. Lukes Community House, and United Neighborhood Health Services.
