Add Review/Comment
Second Saturday, September 10, provides an opportunity to experience the Sudekum Planetarium after-hours and pay only for planetarium tickets (no general admission cost).
6:30pm STARS STARS focuses on the lives of the stars, how they are born, how they die, and how human understanding of the stars has changed over time. From Native Americans to Newton, from the electromagnetic spectrum to Einstein, audiences will explore nebulae, star clusters, pulsars, black holes, and more. This dramatic program features the voice talent of Mark Hamill. The Nashville Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Albert-George Schram, resident conductor, performed part of the STARS soundtrack. STARS was made possible, in part, by a gift from SunTrust Bank, Inc. STARS is recommended for ages 4 and up
7:30pm Skies Over Nashville Skies Over Nashville is a live program in which a planetarium educator shows you how to locate and identify naked-eye seasonal constellations, bright stars, planets and any other interesting sky objects visible on the date of the planetarium visit. You're invited to ask questions and participate in the show! Skies Over Nashville is recommended for ages 4 and up.
8:30pm Michael Jackson You don’t have to be able to dance to enjoy this Cosmic Concert featuring a variety of Michael Jackson’s musical masterpieces set to lasers, stars, and special effects. Practice your ABCs, brave the Thriller, and admire the Man in the Mirror in this tribute to the legendary performer.
9:30pm The Other Side of Pink Floyd If you have already explored the dark side of the Moon and want more, this Pink Floyd Cosmic Concert will expand your view farther. From Piper at the Gates of Dawn to The Division Bell and everything in between, lasers, stars, and special effects provide the ultimate accompaniment to the music of Pink Floyd. Wear any Pink Floyd shirt and get a free compliment from our enthusiastic staff.
