Buttondown Bird and The Basement are celebrating Labor Day with the launch of Buttondown Bird featuring live music by /Cortney Tidwell, William Tyler, Coupler (Ryan Norris) and Derek Schartung .

Buttondown Bird is a picture book company. That’s the place to start. We make books that are at once challenging and beautiful, books that appeal at once to both children and adults, and ultimately that challenge the notion of just what a picture book is and can be. New ways to tell stories and to enter into old ones:

Works that engage the eye, the ear, the heart and the mind: the kind of works that open up within you and remain long after you've left them, the kind of works that are themselves like dwelling places, the kind of works that, even if they first startle us, feel like Home.
